The day began with a few jobbies lined up. I was taking my washing over to Kath Clean again today, so I had a few house-wifely jobs to do to start the day!
It was extremely windy overnight apparently, although I must admit I didn't really notice... I'm sure it had nothing to do with the Irish Coffee that Marie made me...!!!
Irish Coffee
But today was particularly wild and apparently there was an Orange Alert out for the wind, which is one of the highest, and advised of gale force winds.
So as I drove into town this morning, the ocean looked particularly wild. So I thought I would stop at the top car park and take some pics.
Bad move!
Apart from all the foam that was blowing up from the ocean and covering my windscreen, I tried to open the car door and literally couldn't.....the wind was so fierce. Eventually I forced the car door open and tried to get out, but as soon as I stood up outside, I could feel myself being blown away by the wind. It literally was moving me...
At this stage, I was thinking the picture wasn't worth it, so I had to try and open the car door again and then get myself back inside before I got blown away. So I eventually managed to escape back into the car and drove over to the front of the car park and took my pics through the car window!
A very wild Atlantic

So I continued my journey onto Ennistymon to drop off my washing, then popped into SupaValu to grab a few of those lovely homemade dinners they stock.... way better than cooking and very economical.
The next plan was to get a coffee and maybe some lunch, but I thought I would head back to Lahinch for that. This time I headed for the beach car park, and for once I got the ticket machine to work, and just as well, because just as I walked away from the car along came with the Ranger who is very meticulous in booking cars with no tickets!

I had a lot of trouble taking pics today. Apart from the challenge of holding the phone steady in the wind, I am having trouble with my glasses, which turn into sunglasses when I'm outside, and they obviously darken my view of everything, so I couldn't see what I was capturing! I was just pointing the phone in general direction and hoping for the best. I tried to take a few videos but they were not fit for publication!!!
Anyway, it was now time for lunch, so I thought I might be different today and I headed the Cornerstone for some Potato and Leek soup.
Potato and Leek soup
I have good memories of their soup from last year, especially on a day like this!
The Cornerstone is a lovely little pub in the Main Street. They often have live music there in the evenings, but I've never been out that late!!!!

To continue the theme of being different today, I had my coffee at Joes, which was actually choc-a block full of people, but there is always a multi-cultural feel to the place, as it's the closest coffee shop to where all the buses pull in.

I tried to take a few more pics along the Prom, but my camera and I were not in sync today, sadly...
Here's one more..
Wild Atlantic again
But the weather was definitely the theme of today. Quite a few of my Perth friends have been telling me about the wild weather there too... It seems there's something strange happening with the weather everywhere. Marie was saying last night that this is very unusual for September, which is mostly fine and lovely.
To conclude I'll just add a short video of the Conservatory where I sit to produce my blog most days.... always a pleasure to sit in here at any time and just look at the view!
